- POCO laptops may launch in India in 2021
- Two battery models R15B02W and R14B02W have received the BIS certification
- The upcoming POCO laptops could be rebranded Mi laptops
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco, which became an independent brand earlier this year, has launched some great budget smartphones in India so far. Such as Poco X3, C3 and M3 etc. But now it plans to enter the laptop category in 2021, as the Poco branded laptop batteries are listed on the BIS certification.
Tipster Mukul Sharma shared a screenshot of BIS certification on Twitter. The tweet reads, “2 new laptop batteries (R15B02W, R14B02W) have now received Indian BIS certification, but this time they are listed under POCO branding.
POCO laptop?” The certificate shows two battery models under the Poco brand and Mi brand, meaning that these Poco laptops can be rebranded as Mi laptops. But, this is not surprising as many Poco phones in the country are often rebated as Redmi devices.
Poco India has not officially given any details regarding laptops in India; However, the company hopes to drop some teasers early next year. We should get more information about this in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Poco is also working on its own actual wireless earbuds separately called Pop Buds. This smartphone will be the brand’s first audio product.
